Working with your Logitech drivers

Logitech is best known for their computer peripheral products such as computer mice, tracking balls, keyboards, and webcams. If you have any Logitech device installed on your computer, it's not a bad idea to periodically visit the Logitech Web site and download new drivers.

Your original device came with a device driver when you first installed it. This may have been installed from an installation disc, you may have had to download it manually, or it may have been pre-installed in your Windows operating system. However, since the original installation of your hardware device, it's highly likely that a new Logitech driver has been created.

What to do if your Logitech drivers is malfunctioning

If your device is malfunctioning, you'll definitely need to try a new driver. The new driver could very well solve your problem. For example, if the problem originated from corrupt driver, replacing the corrupt driver with a new one will solve your problem. If the problem originated from a known bug that has since been repaired, the new Logitech driver will repair the problem.

But did you know that you should also update your drivers even when your hard devices are operating as designed? Not only do manufacturers release driver updates to address known issues, they also release these updated versions to improve the device's functionality. For example, an updated driver may add compatibility to new operating systems. If you are updating your computer to a new operating system, you will also need to update your device drivers.

Where to find your Logitech drivers

Logitech drivers are available directly on the Logitec.com Web site. Head over to the Support section and select Drivers and Parts. Next, choose the type of product that you are updating followed by the product name. Choose “Get Software” once your device is displayed and then select your operating system. Finally, choose the file and download and install your new Logitech drivers.

Like many other hardware manufacturers, Logitech offers a software product that facilitates numerous support tasks such as managing updates. Logitech's product is called Logitech Desktop Manager. An advantage to using the Desktop Manager is that your download will be a self-installer. The disadvantage is that this is yet another piece of software using up resources on your computer. If you own just one Logitech device, it may not make sense to use this product. You can also download files manually whenever needed.

Avoid the frustration of manual Logitech driver updating

Imagine having a download manager product for each hardware device on your computer. That's a lot of individual managers to manage. Wouldn't it be better to have a single product manage all device drivers on your system, not just Logitech drivers? Windows comes with a built-in tool, Device Manager, that you can use to update your drivers. However, you still must update drivers one device at a time. This means that you must update your Logitech drivers individually, device by device. Repeat the process for hard disks, monitors, soundcards, graphics, cards, etc… and you'll spend hours updating your drivers.

The solution: DriverCure

DriverCure is the perfect solution. This program inventories every single device on or attached to your computer and effectively manages updating these devices with the most current drivers possible.
